Our Story
The Director of 28 Degrees South Management Services, Captain Aaron Harkins, has been working in the marine industry for the past 30 years, from production boat to custom boat building to refits and repairs and has spent 16 years as a crew member aboard 20to 50-meter luxury motor yachts progressing from deckhand through to Captain.
Aaron is AMSA MASTER 5 (Master < 24 meters near coastal) qualified with an MED II.
He is hard working, honest, reliable, and takes extreme pride in all that he undertakes.
His yachting career began on the Gold Coast as a boat builder, which led to a desire to expand his yachting career. His impeccable work ethic and reputation gave him a start on a super yacht in Sydney which then progressed to working on luxury super yachts in Europe and Asia. Aaron spent many years working and studying abroad achieving an MCA CHIEF MATE < 3,000 GT UNLIMITED AREA (yacht II/2) qualification whilst working in Europe.
Aaron returned to Australia, where he managed charter yachts on Sydney Harbour, along with multiple privately owned luxury yachts on the Gold Coast.
Captain Aaron’s experience and extensive yacht knowledge makes him a true allrounder. His genuine passion for the marine industry led him to start 28 Degrees South Management Services.
